How To Help Paton

Box Tops for Education

You can find the familiar 10¢ Box Tops coupon on hundreds of your family’s favorite products, including General Mills, Kleenex, Huggies and Ziploc.  Clip them off the product packaging, save them, and when you have a pile, send them into school.  PTO volunteers trim them, total them and submit them twice a year.  That’s free money, from purchases we all make anyway.  Watch for box tops on everything in your cupboard.   You can find the familiar 10¢ Box Tops coupon on hundreds of your family’s favorite products.

In 2014, the PTO earned $1556.35 from Box Tops!

Stop & Shop A+ School Rewards Program

If you have a Stop & Shop Rewards card, register it for Paton and it earns reward points for the Paton PTO.  With A+ School Rewards, points accrue with each purchase where the Stop & Shop Card is used. It even works with purchases made online with Peapod by Stop & Shop. At the end of each month, these points determine your school’s cash total which is automatically credited to its account and school totals updated each month. (Please note: Gift cards (excluding store brand gift cards), pharmacy, alcohol and/or cigarette purchases are excluded from accruing points.)  A+ School Rewards are rounded per transaction to the nearest whole dollar amount. At the end of each month, each school’s dollar amount is determined which is then automatically credited to its account.

In 2013-2014, Paton PTO earned: $748.60

Media Center Help Wanted

Consider giving your time in the Media Center.

We always welcome our Media Center volunteers. Our first and second grade students in particular need assistance during book checkout while they are looking for ‘just right books.’  Young children can feel overwhelmed as they try to make their choices from the many books in our library. Some parents enjoy volunteering during their own child’s book checkout time because it provides an opportunity to meet the fellow classmates while offering a glimpse into his or her world at school.
The books also must be shelved in the correct order and ‘straightened out.’  Magazines often need sorting and when a new box of books arrives, these books need to be stamped,  barcoded,  and displayed.
We also like to have help with on-going projects such as shelf signs, display boards and copying for our Gift of Knowledge program.

Our media volunteers are kept quite busy and they are most appreciated!
