Paton honors Mrs. Demarky-Anderson as she prepares for retirement

Paton music teacher Georgia Demarky-Anderson will retire at the end of this school year. One June 10th, the school was adorned with music notes, decorated by Paton students, to celebrate Mrs. Demarky-Anderson day in her honor.

Paton Students Anthony Morana and Caroline Menzie recently sat down with Mrs. Demarky Anderson to get her thoughts on her retirement- and what she has planned next!

What do you want to do when you retire?

I haven’t come up with an idea yet. I want to shut the door before I open a new one.But I enjoy being a grandma and planning fun with my husband, too.

What will you miss most about Paton?

I will miss all the lovely people that make up our Paton family and everyday getting to listen to all the beautiful voices that make up Paton. It is the best job in the World!

What would be your ideal day in retirement?

A very slow, relaxed cup of coffee in the morning with my husband, enjoying jazz. And then the rest of the day can begin.

What is your favorite things about music?

That it helps you in so many ways, especially for using your imagination and creating anything.

What hopes and dreams do you have?

I would like to do some traveling and volunteer and help people.
