It’s Paton Book Blizzard time!

Today kicks off our annual Book Blizzard at Paton!

Details from Principal Wendy Bell:

This afternoon your children will be coming home with a packet that should be kept handy in a visible place for the next three weeks. The packet includes a reading log sheet and a sponsor sheet. We hope that every child will participate with the read-a-thon, and that you might consider reaching out to friends, family, and the community to sponsor your child’s efforts during this three-week period. While the Book Blizzard is one of Paton’s largest PTO fundraisers, it is also a great opportunity to encourage your children to get hooked on reading. There will be prizes for the child at each grade level that accumulates the most minutes throughout the month, and a prize for the class at each grade level that reads the most. Abundant reading, at the appropriate independent reading level, is the most effective way for your child to become a stronger reader. If you are unsure what your child’s independent reading level is, please be in touch with your his/her teacher for clarification.

Spirit Week This Week

The student council members have been hard at work planning for Paton’s spirit week which officially kicks off Monday, June 10th.   Show your Paton pride, spirit and enthusiasm and dress in the “spirit theme” all-week long.  The best news you ask?  Spirit Week concludes with field day.  What a way to end a fun “last full-week” of school!
Monday, 6/10:  Shrewsbury Colors Day– Wear Your Blue/Gold
Tuesday, 6/11:  PJ or Sports Day
Wednesday, 6/12:  Paton School Colors Day:  Wear Your Orange/White
Thursday, 6/13:   Crazy Hat or Crazy Hair Day (a student favorite!)
Friday, 6/14 Field Day:  Wear YOUR Class Colors
Field Day Colors:
Grade One:  Green
Grade Two:  Red
Grade Three:  Blue
Grade Four:  Orange
Most important rule to Spirit Week and Field day is to HAVE FUN!  We think Paton students will have that covered!
