STOP The Summer Slide

by Jayne Wilkin, Principal

Research and our own experience tells us that children who don’t engage in learning over the summer loose ground. Please STOP THE SUMMER SLIDE by having your child read regularly during the summer months. You have received info about summer reading, how to choose “just right books,” the importance of reading with and to your child if he/she wants to read a more challenging book. Teachers will know which children in their classes have been reading and learning over the summer months.  Why not put your child at an advantage, rather than a disadvantage? Use that first ½ hour of a few days each week to accomplish this. Set the routine for your child on June 23rd!
