Mrs. Early’s Second Graders

In Science second graders in Mrs. Early’s class are studying weather.
We are using weather instruments to report on the daily weather conditions.
An anemometer is an instrument we use to measure the speed of the wind. We report the speed of wind using the words calm, gentle, moderate, or strong.
A  weather vane is used to determine the direction of the wind.
We made cloud books and use them to decide what type of clouds we see each day.
To find the daily temperature we use a thermometer.
To report amounts of precipitation we have used a rain gauge for rain and a ruler and yardstick for snow.
We are lucky to have a weather station at Paton School to help us with our weather reporting in Science.
